O.O. BOHOMOLETS NMU JOINED TO THE ACTION “WEARING Y-T-SHIRT YOU BUILD “OKHMATDYT”

On 15, May, 2015 members in NMU’s administration transferred the money to finish the construction of the new building of children’s hospital and took part at the meeting wearing “branded” T-shirts of actions, developed by designer Olesya Telizhenko.
The money, collected within the action, will be directed to roof the suite “G” of unfinished building.
Illya Burlachenko, student and public active member, addressed with the idea to University administration. According to his words the university supported the actions without doubts.
”No children’s hospital was constructed during the years of Ukrainian independence. As a future father and as a future doctor I could not stay aside from this project. Who if not we, the leading medical higher school, should change the situation in medicine? I am glad that the administration supported the initiative”, – told Illya Burlachenko.
Rector of NMU Kateryna Amosova thinks that the new building of the chief children’s hospital will become the point for growth of pediatrics in Ukraine.
”It is important for us due to some aspects. Firstly we should make the modern hospital, where children from all Ukraine will be treated. So that they would not go abroad (those ones who can), and so that the ones, who have no money, would not die in Ukraine.
The second position is the solidarity with our colleagues. The collective of hospital “Okhmatdyt” is one of the best in Ukraine due to professionalism. In particular, it is one of the clinical bases of NMU. Thus we, teachers and students, shall help them but absolutely voluntarily and it is important. With this not large action we would like to pass our solidarity with Ukrainian children, mothers and collective of hospital “Okhmatdyt”, – told Kateryna Amosova.

Let’s remind that action “Wearing Y-T-shirt you build “Okhmatdyt” is a voluntary initiative to collect money to roof the unfinished building of children’s hospital. Designer Olesya Telizhenko developed the stylish T-shirt. A T-shirt is given to everyone, who made the contribution in the amount of UAH 300 – it is the price for 1 sq. m of the roof. The voluntary action was supported by peoples’ deputies, public leaders, and people of arts – Ruslana Lyzhychko, Andriy Kurkov, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Serhii Zhadan, Ihor Kondratiuk, and Andrii Makarevych. As of 15, May, they managed to collect more than UAH 220,000. In total they need UAH 1,6 millions to finish the roofing works.
