INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN THE SPHERE OF PUBLIC HEALTH: EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC ASPECTS

The meeting of the heads at departments of higher medical schools of Ukraine, at which they teach the following academic disciplines “social medicine and health care organization”, “biostatistics”, “economics of health care”, “history of medicine”, “management and marketing”, was held at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university on 8, April, 2015.

The peculiarity for meeting this year was the participation of representatives from National university “Kyiv Mohyla Academy” and foreign colleagues from Warsaw and Lublin (Republic of Poland), Trnava (Republic of Slovakia), Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) in the event.

The program of the meeting anticipated the discussion of urgent problems in academic methodological provision of teaching the discipline “social medicine and health care organization” according to the new curricula, results from licensing integrated exam “Krok-2” in academic discipline “social medicine and health care organization” at higher medical schools of Ukraine and actions for their improvement, preparation of textbook “Social medicine and health care organization” (“Public health”) in Russian and English languages for publication, teaching the academic discipline “economics of health care”, presentation of new textbook “History of medicine”.

The participants in the meeting with special interest perceived the report by head at department of public health, Doctor of State Management, assistant professor Chala N.D. on topic “Teaching the discipline “public health”” at National university “Kyiv Mohyla Academy”. The reporter gave the comprehensive answers to numerous questions by participants in the meeting.

The speeches by Polish colleagues – chairman in all-Polish society of social medicine and public health, member in Committee on public health at Polish academy of sciences, professor Alfred Ovots and director in Institute of health care of rural population in Lublin, professor Ivora Boyar were extremely interesting and meaningful. The guests shared with experience in implementation of reforms in health care, performance of scientific researches and teaching the academic discipline “public health”. The people, present at the meeting, received the invitation to the scientific practical conference on occasion of the 60th anniversary for the Institute of health care of rural population in Lublin, which will be held on 24-27.05.2015.

The peculiarities for academic process at Trnava University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Slovakia were lively discussed. Due to the results from discussion of the issues, raised at the meeting, they took the decision, which was sent to Central methodological office on higher medical education at MHC of Ukraine.

The participants in the meeting were unanimous in the opinion on expediency in performance of such events in the future in the wide international format.
