ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE LIKE IT IS. VIDEOCONFERENCE.

Online video conference on an important topic – Alzheimer’s disease was held on September 21^st, 2015 at Bogomolets National Medical University in the audience of Morphological building No.3.

The participants of the online conference were students and teachers from three higher medical schools of Ukraine: Danylo Halytskyy Lviv National Medical University, I. Horbachevskyy Ternopil State Medical University and Bogomolets Kyiv National Medical University.

The most acute issues concerned senile dementia of Alzheimer’s type were  discussed in detail and three presentations from leading experts in the field of neurology, psychiatry and basic medicine were listened during the conference.

Assistant professor of the Department of Neurology at Danylo Halytskyy Lviv National Medical University, Yuriy Matviyenko, was the first who willingly shared his knowledge and experience with students. His speech covered the issue of dementia in general and briefly describes the main provisions of the differential diagnosis. Another lecturer was Assistant Professor of Neurology, Psychiatry, Addictology and Medical Psychology at Horbachevskyy Ternopil State Medical University, Wenger Olena, about the main postmortem features and clinic of the disease. In addition, the performance of M.D., Professor of Psychiatry at Bogomolets NMU, Natalia Dzeruzhynska, that concerned the psychiatric aspects of Alzheimer’s disease was the final.

Students and teachers had the opportunity to discuss the problematic questions and share practical experiences with colleagues during the breaks between the reports. As a result, each participant was able to find solutions to some of the important issues and, above all, find something new for oneself.
