PARTICIPATION OF SPECIALISTS FROM NMU IN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT TO RENDER THE AID IN STRUGGLE AGAINST HIV/AIDS (PEPFAR)”

On 26, January, 2018 the specialists from O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University took part in the event, which was held at the initiative of Center for Control and Prevention of Disease at US Health Care Department (CDC) and American Society of Clinical Pathologists, ASCP, which are the contractors of Project “Support to reinforcement of laboratories in countries with limited resources within President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)”.

The purpose of the meeting was to sign the Memorandum about Cooperation between ASCP and Ministry of Health of Ukraine with discussions about implementation of Project and review of Program for improvement of laboratories in direction to accreditation (SLMTA) and stage-by-stage improvement of quality at laboratories in the process for preparation to accreditation (SLIPTA).

The main speakers of the meeting were Uliana Suprun – acting Minister of Health of Ukraine, Charles Vitek – director in global program for struggle against HIV/AIDS in Ukraine and Russia, CDC, Den Milner – chief medical director of Global Health Center of ASCP.

The following persons took an active part in discussion of plan for implementation of project in Ukraine: employees of O.O. Bogomolets NMU – expert of MH of Ukraine under direction “Clinical laboratory diagnostics” professor Larysa Natrus – director of Scientific research institute of experimental and clinical medicine, and Iryna Ryzhko – head at laboratory diagnostic center at SRI of ECM.

The work within the Project is continued with participation in training for trainers since 29, January until 9, February, 2018, which purpose is to teach the specialists in issues of clinical laboratory diagnostics to implement the quality management system in practice using different resources.
