SCIENTIFIC PRACTICAL CONFERENCE ON MEDICAL PSYCHOLOGICAL REHABILITATION OF PARTICIPANTS IN MILITARY CONFLICTS

The IV International scientific practical conference “Medical psychology: achievements, development and perspectives” was held since 22 until 24, October, 2015 in c. Kyiv. Every year the professional community at the event discusses the most urgent issues of medical psychology. That’s why the conference of this year is devoted to the medical psychological rehabilitation of participants in military conflicts. The speeches, disputes, discussions and master classes were devoted to this painful topic of today for three days.
The conference was already traditionally organized by joint efforts from K.S. Kostiuk Institute of psychology at NAPS of Ukraine, medical psychological faculty of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university and Society of psychologists of Ukraine, all-Ukrainian public organization “Ukrainian association of doctors-psychologists”, PO “Art therapeutic association”, PO “Society of young scientists and specialists” and introduced into register of congresses, forums, symposiums and scientific practical conferences that are held in 2015 by MHC and NAMS of Ukraine No 192.
The support from Ministry of health care of Ukraine and representatives from Committee on issues of health care at Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was also important for organizers.
Over 150 attendants from different regions of Ukraine and abroad took part in the conference during three days, over 30 very interesting speeches, poster reports were heard, 12 master classes and online communication with Bukovyna state medical university were held, as well as the training in the newest method for struggle against stress and consequences of psychic trauma – TRE from Swiss guest – clinical psychologist Andreas Herold.
Academician in NAPS of Ukraine, director in G.S. Kostiuk Institute of psychology, Doctor of Psychology, professor Serhii Maksymenko opened the plenary meeting and presented the extremely interesting report.
The participants could learn the new aspects in study of psychological trauma from reports by academician in AS HE of Ukraine, professor Oleh Chaban, academician in AS HE of Ukraine, professor Mariana Markova, professor Olena Khaustova, professor Mykola Khaytovych, clinical psychologist from Zurich (Switzerland) Andreas Herold and many other reporters. We should separately mention the speech by public leader, assistant of People’s deputy, specialist in medical reform Volodymyr Romaniv.
The second day consisted of section meetings, at which they presented many substantial reports, as well as provided with possibility to ask questions and to discuss the debating points within the agenda.
On the third day of the conference the participants could improve their practical skills in direction of psychological rehabilitation at 12 master classes, which were held in three lines, and, accordingly, each participant could choose and free of charge visit three interesting topics. And there was the good choice: cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodrama, art-therapy, transactional analysis, work with HIV-infected and other approaches to work with psychic trauma. As well 20 persons, who desired, could pass through three days study of module 1 under TRE from Andreas Herold, MSc. Clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, TRE Certified provider, Zürich, Switzerland and receive the corresponding certificates.
The resolution of the conference was formed pursuant to discussions, after insignificant improvement it was sent to the corresponding management bodies of the state.
The participants in the conference are sure that the IV International scientific practical conference “Medical psychology: achievements, development and perspectives” will become the significant contribution into development of occupational system for psychological rehabilitation and establishment of modern, really efficient system of care for psychical health.
