TO WORLD CANCER DAY

It is the tradition that on this day UICC calls to shatter myths and to get rid of stereotypes about cancer. In 2015 the motto in performance of World Cancer Day is “This is in our power”, the special attention is paid to following 4 tasks:

1. Choice of healthy lifestyle
2. Early diagnostics
3. Life quality
4. Treatment for all
VI International seminar of students and young scientists to World Cancer Day, which was held on 5 and 6, February, 2015 on the base of department of oncology at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university in Kyiv city clinical oncology center, was traditionally devoted to the abovementioned world event.

The plenary sessions, where the participants presented their scientific achievements, were held on 5, February, 2015. The students and young scientists from O.O. Bohomolets National medical university (departments of oncology, pathological anatomy, pharmacology, pediatric infectious diseases, and urology), Maksym Gorkyy Donetsk national medical university, Zaporizhe state medical university, Kyiv medical university of Ukrainian association of folk medicine and Kharkiv national medical university took part in the work of seminar. They heard 19 oral reports, which were presented in the form of qualitatively executed presentation and caused to lively discussion.

All participants received the certificates and the authors of the best works were awarded with diplomas: Genbach I.O. (DonNMU), Vysotskyy A.O. (NMU), O.V. Postupalenko (NMU), Umahi I.G. (NMU), T.Ye. Tarasenko (NMU), Shamrayeva D.M. (DonNMU), Tsapiak K.S. (NMU), Nagorna D.M. (NMU).

In the evening all, who desired the cultural program, were offered to visit the musical at National academic theater of operetta.

On 6, February, 2015 the participants had the possibility to visit the leading oncology establishment of the country – Center of nuclear medicine. The employees acquainted young scientists with the structure of the center, demonstrated the implementation of modern medical technologies.

Finally we would like to mention that such workshops will not leave anyone to be indifferent as it is not only the study but first of all the live communication of people, who are united by joint business that have neither age not territorial limits. We hope that the nice traditions of such meetings will be continued in the future
