TO THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE GREAT VICTORY
Seventy years ago in May of 1945 the whole Europe celebrated the victory over fascism. In memory of that glorious event in the history of mankind on 5, May, 2015 the University held the solemnities: the meeting was performed; the flowers were laid to the Monument to students and teachers, who perished during the Great Patriotic War, and Memorial stela to Heroes of Nebesna Sotnya.
The rector of University, corresponding member in NAMS of Ukraine, professor K.M. Amosova made the greeting speech to present people: “This date has changed the world, the then generation and continues influencing on us today. Dear veterans, you passed through the war, raised the country from ruins, later gave all your force and aspiration working at the University, bringing up students and treating patients. On behalf of the University collective let me express the words of sincere gratitude for the Great Victory to you”.
The chairman in council of veterans at University V.F. Moshliak in his speech emphasized that the war brought the pain and sufferings, death and losses in our land as the military actions against fascist invaders in the territory of Ukraine lasted since the first day of the war until 28, October, 1944 – 3 years and 4 months and took the lives of almost each fifth citizen of Ukraine.
The eternal light flames,
Rings in the fate of centuries.
The eternal light calls:
Save the happiness of the alive!
The eternal light bubbles:
People, no need in war,
So that the daughters,
Sisters, parents and sons would not die,
Today the veterans’ organization of O.O. Bohomolets NMU enlists 45 persons: 16 veterans of the Great Patriotic War, participants in military actions and 29 participants in labor front. The scientific council and the Conference of University labor collective on 28, April, 2015 took the following decision: on occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory to award the veterans of the Great Patriotic War in 1941-1945 with the Charter of Honor from Scientific council of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university and to give the material aid.
The holiday dinner and the concert of amateur talent groups (head of ICC – I. Terpeliuk) were waiting for veterans after the meeting.
