Responsible for scientific work: Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 2, Rudenko Yu.V.

 

The following sections of modern cardiology, rheumatology, and internal medicine are the priority areas of scientific work of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 2:

  • Pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment of acute coronary syndromes
  • Influence of systemic inflammation on the course of atherosclerosis in connective tissue diseases
  • Pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment of acute and chronic heart failure of various genesis with reduced and preserved left ventricular ejection fraction
  • Medicinal prevention of stroke and cardiovascular complications in patients with arterial hypertension
  • Musculoskeletal system and arterial stiffness in patients with rheumatological pathology and diseases of the cardiovascular system

In recent years, scientists of the department have conducted and continue to conduct research within the framework of the following topics:

  • Biochemical mechanisms of endothelial function regulation in patients with various variants of heart failure (2005-2008)
  • Optimizing the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with acute myocardial infarction through the development and implementation of comprehensive prevention of its early and late complications (2009-2011)
  • Pathophysiological mechanisms and new approaches to the treatment of various clinical forms of chronic heart failure (2011-2015)
  • “The latest technologies of medical and surgical prevention of stroke and cardiovascular complications in patients with arterial hypertension (2014 – 2016)
  • New methods of diagnosis and prevention of cardiovascular complications in patients with various clinical forms of heart failure (2016 – 2019)
  • New pathogenetic approaches to the diagnosis of heart failure with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (2016 – 2019)
  • Study of the state of the musculoskeletal system, indicators of central arterial pressure and pulse wave propagation speed in patients with rheumatological pathology and diseases of the cardiovascular system (2016 – 2019)
  • Structural and functional features of vessels and myocardium, bone system in patients with rheumatological pathology and diseases of the cardiovascular system (2020-2022)
  • Structural and functional changes of the cardiovascular, urinary and bone systems in patients with rheumatological and cardiac diseases under the influence of infectious and non-infectious factors (2023-2025)
