On May 26, an open lecture entitled \u201cEthics of War: A Radical Thesis About Proportionality\u201d<\/em>\u00a0will be held at Bogomolets National Medical University.<\/p>\n The lecturer is Professor Jacob Stegenga<\/strong>, Acting Chair of the School of Humanities at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom). He is the author of the acclaimed books \u201cMedical Nihilism<\/em>\u201d <\/em>(Oxford University Press, 2018),\u00a0\u201cCare and Cure: An Introduction to Philosophy of Medicine<\/em>\u201d <\/em>(University of Chicago Press, 2018), and \u201cHeart of Science<\/em>\u201d<\/em> (University of Chicago Press, 2026).<\/p>\n Students, interns, postgraduate students, and university faculty are invited to participate.<\/p>\n The lecture will explore the concept of proportionality as one of the central principles of just war theory.
