December 7th, 2018 Staff of the Department of Therapy, Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenereology of Postgraduate Education visited the center of social and psychological rehabilitation for children # 1 in Kyiv for the second time. The first, spring event, was dedicated to collecting outfits for future graduates. A large number of dresses and decorations were collected and handed over to the senior girls. This time the purpose of the meeting was to perform an educational event on the vocational guidance of high school students.<\/p>\n

The young employees of the Department shared their own experience regarding the nuances of medical work and discussed interesting scientific facts with the students. The event was supported by experienced psychologists who, in conjunction with therapists, conducted a training to determine the children\u2019s attitudes to the profession of physician and gave them the opportunity to \u201cfeel like a real doctor\u201d in games. In an atmosphere of play and open communication, time passed unnoticed and to a great extent.<\/p>\n

To increase awareness among physicians and the public regarding gluten-dependent pathology a TV program was filmed, featuring the scientific advisor of the Ukrainian public organization \u201cUkrainian Society of Celiac Disease\u201d Olena Gubska, President of the \u201cUkrainian Society of Celiac Disease\u201d Olga Naumova, health and nutrition (FAO UN) national consultant Olga Dontsova, and chief freelance nutritionist of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine Oleg Shvets. According to experts, at least 300 thousand Ukrainians suffer from celiac disease. The primary goal of their treatment is the absolute abandonment of gluten. However, as the majority of diagnosed patients are children, providing them with psychological support is an essential matter.<\/p>\n

May 20th \u2013 Celiac disease day<\/p>\n

The Celiac disease day has celebrated its 10th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary in Ukraine this year. Much has been done and achieved over this period. Our knowledge and understanding of the celiac disease have improved. Still, it is necessary to continue raising awareness in public and among doctors, spotlighting the problem of food allergies and dietary intolerance, as well as the need for timely diagnosing these conditions.<\/p>\n

A medical conference was held to commemorate the anniversary. It gave gastroenterologists, therapists, pediatricians, nutritionists, family doctors and everyone else from the general public the opportunity to listen to lectures of leading specialists, including scientific consultant of the Ukrainian Society of Celiac Disease, Professor Olena Yuriivna Gubska; Professor Oleg Gennadiyovych Shadrin; Professor Galina Anokhina; and Svetlana Viktorovna Fus, Ph.D.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Free From Food Ukraine exhibition has been officially initiated. It highlighted a great variety of healthy and specialized foods for people with intolerance to gluten or other food ingredients. The exhibition was co-organized by the Ukrainian Society of Celiac Disease.<\/p>\n

The weekend dedicated to celiac disease continued on May 21st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

The program of this day combined medical lectures by Professor Gubska Olena Yuriivna, Professor Marushka Yurii Volodymyrovychch, and PhD Naumova Olga Oleksandrivna, along with an entertaining program for children, master classes for cooking gluten-free dishes, the Free From Food Ukraine exhibition of healthy and specialized nutrition, and the registration of the \u201cLargest gluten-free cake\u201d record in the National Register of Records of Ukraine!-conference.<\/p>\n

May 18th, 2016<\/p>\n

The UNIAN press-conference was held, organized by the Ukrainian public organization \u201cUkrainian Society of Celiac Disease\u201d and Red Lynx Production. The head of our Department Olena Gubska and the President of the Ukrainian Society of Celiac Disease Olha Naumova participated in it. The goal of this meeting was to focus the public attention on the problem of food allergies and food intolerance.<\/p>\n

Also, the coming Celiac disease day and the exhibition of healthy and specialized nutrition Free From Food Ukraine for people with intolerance to gluten and other dietary ingredients were announced.<\/p>\n

April 6-7, 2016 \u2013 members of the Department Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology of Postgraduate Education took part in the XIX National School of Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists, which was held in Kyiv. Professor Zaitsev Ihor Anatoliyovych presented his report \u201cAntiviral therapy of Hepatitis C in cirrhotic patients\u201d in the \u201cProblematic questions of diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases\u201d section. The head of the Department Olena Gubska moderated the newly-organized section \u201cComplicated cases in the gastroenterology practice. Most common mistakes and how to avoid them.\u201d Professor Gubska also presented her report \u201cCommon mistakes in managing patients with gluten-related diseases\u201d.<\/p>\n

April 4th, 2017 \u2013 With the assistance of the Department of Health of the Kyiv City State Administration, the \u201cOpen Doors Day\u201d charity event was held in the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 1. All interested persons could consult with a therapist, cardiologist, ophthalmologist, and endocrinologist. Measurements of arterial and ocular pressure, blood glucose levels and blood lipids were performed, as well as full blood counts.<\/p>\n

Interns and postgraduate students of the Department of Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology of Postgraduate Education took an active part in the event, providing counseling in the field of internal diseases and helping patients form a list of future additional tests and necessary narrow-profile consultations.<\/p>\n

March 30th, 2017 \u2013 Professor Ihor Anatoliyovych Zaitsev presented a lecture on \u201cEpidemiology, diagnostics, and treatment of viral hepatitis\u201d for internal medicine doctors. The event took place in the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital #. 1.<\/p>\n

The staff of the Department, together with medical interns, takes an active part in medical-educational and preventive work with patients. They also help in organizing charity events dedicated to health, as well as various scientific-practical conferences in which both medical interns and the staff of the Department take part.<\/p>\n

On December 16th, 2016, the first working meeting of medical interns with psychologists, representatives of the classical psychological school, took place at the Department of Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology of Postgraduate Education. The meeting was dedicated to the discussion of the psychosomatics problems. Practicing psychologists outlined the challenges faced by doctors and gave advice on how to work with such patients and answered all questions the audience had.<\/p>\n
