Despite significant advances in intensive care, mortality rates among patients with these conditions remain exceptionally high, ranging from <\/span><b>30% to 50%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Current treatment strategies are largely supportive and symptomatic, addressing the clinical manifestations rather than the underlying biological mechanisms responsible for myocardial depression and cardiovascular failure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The primary objective of the <\/span><b>CURE-SHOCK<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> project is to evaluate the <\/span><b>safety, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and therapeutic efficacy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the innovative monoclonal antibody <\/span><b>Invobenitug<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (previously known during preclinical development as <\/span><b>Procizumab<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), developed by 4TEEN4 Pharmaceuticals GmbH, through a <\/span><b>multicentre, randomized Phase 1b\/2a clinical trial<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The investigational medicinal product is based on a <\/span><b>novel mechanism of action<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It selectively neutralizes the excessive activity of the circulating enzyme <\/span><b>dipeptidyl peptidase 3 (cDPP3)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This enzyme is released into the bloodstream following extensive cellular damage and degrades key regulatory peptides, including <\/span><b>angiotensin II<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>enkephalins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, thereby contributing to persistent cardiovascular collapse and severe myocardial dysfunction.
