Afanasenko together with students of the pharmaceutical chemistry section<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The members of the group work on the basis of the research laboratory of the department and on the bases of powerful research institutes &#8211; the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of Public Health named after O.M. Marzeev of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the control and analytical laboratory of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Students perform work devoted to the development or modification of methods of quality control of medicinal products and dietary supplements, the search and development of new drugs and dosage forms with antimicrobial activity based on quaternary ammonium salts, which is an extremely relevant topic for technological approaches to the treatment of wounded with purulent complications of firearms wounds of soft tissues. On the other hand, research is being carried out on the topic: &#8220;Synthesis and screening studies of the antitumor activity of 5-arylthio-1,3-oxazol-4-ylphosphonic acid ester derivatives&#8221;, which is carried out on the basis of the Kuchar Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry within the framework of grant programs with the Cancer Institute ( USA).Another scientific link is the creation of new ecological methods for the determination of APIs, for example, the study of the properties of azilsartan medoxomil in the reversed-phase chromatography mode when ethanol is used as a component of the mobile phase and a solvent for obtaining the tested solutions.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the pharmaceutical chemistry section, students carry out pharmaceutical analysis of biologically active substances in promising medicinal raw materials (<em>Salvia officinalis, Capsicum frutescens<\/em>\u00a0and other promising medicinal plant raw materials), study the stability of polyvinylpyrrolidone complexes of different molecular weights with quercetin, rutin and salts of heavy metals in order to create new medicines with cardioprotective and detoxifying properties, develop and validate methods for identification and quantification of active pharmaceutical ingredients of different chemical groups using methods of physicochemical analysis, quantum chemical studies of probable mechanisms of action of new compounds with potential pharmacological activity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170672\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/523.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>In the photo<\/em><em>,<\/em><em> under the guidance of\u00a0MD, Professor Iryna V. Kuznetsova<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>e-mail: <a href=\"mailto:olena.kuznetsova@nmu.ua\">olena.kuznetsova@nmu.ua<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The main direction of the section of biological chemistry is the study of the mechanisms of myocardial damage in experimental cardiomyopathy and its correction by new coordination compounds of germanium and compounds of metabolic action. The members of the club independently explore changes in lipid, protein and carbohydrate metabolism under the influence of complex compounds of germanium with organic acids in the model of doxorubicin cardiomyopathy and acute and chronic alcohol intoxication in laboratory animals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-111896\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/1007.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"786\" height=\"410\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>In<\/em> <em>the<\/em> <em>photo<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>the<\/em> <em>members<\/em> <em>of<\/em> <em>Students<\/em><em>\ua78c<\/em> <em>Scientific<\/em> <em>Club<\/em> <em>perform<\/em> <em>biochemical<\/em> <em>research<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Meetings of the Students\ua78c Scientific Club are held every last Monday of the month at the Department of medicinal chemistry and toxicology in the Scientific Laboratory (room \u2116 410). They start at 4 p.m. The topics of the meetings correspond to the plan of meetings of the Students\ua78c Scientific Club of the Department.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Joint meetings are held with Students\ua78c Scientific Clubs of the Department of pharmacy and industrial technology of drugs and the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Forms of work: at the meetings of Students\ua78c Scientific Club students learn to study literature sources, search information in scientometric databases and form abstracts, master methods of experimental research on animals, do computer calculations using modern programs, spectrophotometric determination of components of medicinal plant raw materials, get acquainted with statistical methods of data processing.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the results of work, members of Students\ua78c Scientific Club prepare reports at the meetings with further discussion of research, participate in scientific and practical conferences, publish the results of their own research in the form of abstracts, reports and articles in professional journals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>On April 26, 2024<\/strong>, graduate students of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicology took part in the International Conference &#8220;West-East&#8221; on the basis of the Warsaw Medical University, where they presented the results of their own scientific research, which were carried out on the basis of the laboratory of quality control of medicinal products of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and laboratory of pharmaceutical microbiology of the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine under the scientific guidance of the teachers of the Department (head, Professor Iryna Nizhenkovska). Student Olga Ivzhenko presented a stand report on the topic &#8220;Anti-adhesion properties of quaternary ammonium salts against Pseudomonas aeruginosa&#8221; (the work was carried out under the supervision of Doctor of Medical Sciences N.O. Vrynchanu). Ushakova Sofya&#8217;s stand report was devoted to scientific research on the topic &#8220;Development of a method for the identification and assay of biotin by high performance liquid chromatography in medicines and dietary supplements&#8221; (scientific supervisor &#8211; candidate of pharmaceutical sciences O.V. Burmaka). The participants of the Conference highly appreciated the results of the scientific research of our students. They received certificates for active participation and scientific activity. WORLD INSIDE WOMAN&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>She delivered a report that was devoted to the latest approaches to pharmaceutical support for pre-induction and induction of labor using the drug &#8220;Mifepreston&#8221;. In her speech, Diana discussed the effectiveness and safety of using &#8220;Mifepreston&#8221; in pharmaceutical support before childbirth.<\/p>\n<p>Such presentations are important for student intensives, as they allow young professionals to familiarize themselves with the latest trends and research in the field of pharmaceutical care for women&#8217;s health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-193965\" src=\"https:\/\/nmuofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/4-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"438\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>On April 26, 2024,<\/em><\/strong> the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicology of the Bogomolets National Medical University hosted an online meeting of the &#8220;Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicology&#8221; section as part of the Scientific-practical Conference with international participation &#8220;Spring Student Scientific Session 2024&#8221;. To the attention of the jury chaired by the head of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicology, Professor I.V. Nizhenkovska presented 13 works of 5th year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, members of the Students&#8217; scientific club of the Department. The authoritative jury evaluated the participants of the Conference according to the following criteria: research design, originality of the chosen research topic, quality of presentation and report, practical significance of the presented conclusions, clarity and correctness of answers to questions. The diploma for the first place was awarded to the student of group 9803 Hihal Hlib for his report on the topic &#8220;Specificity and selectivity of the method of determination of azilsartan medoxomil by the method of high-performance liquid chromatography&#8221; (scientific supervisors \u2013 Associate Professor, cand. of chem. sc. O.O. Glushachenko, cand. of chem. sc. O.A. Syrotchuk). The second place was shared by the student of group 9801 Mykhaylenko Oleksandr for his report on the topic &#8220;Research of antimicrobial properties of derivatives of [2-aryl-5 (arylsulfinyl)-1,3-oxazol-4-yl]phosphonic acids&#8221; (scientific supervisor \u2013 Associate Professor O.I. Holovchenko) and Yuliia Pohorila, a student of group 9804, who presented a report on the topic &#8220;Quantum chemical research of small synthetic molecules based on imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine and pyrimidine as potential drug candidate molecules&#8221; (scientific supervisor \u2013 Associate Professor, cand. of pharm. sc. K.V. Matskevych). Students of group 9804 Bohdana Vashchenko, who presented a report on the topic &#8220;Prediction of acute toxicity of promising anticancer agents &#8211; derivatives of 5-amino-1,3-oxazol-4-yltriphenylphosphonium salts&#8221; (scientific supervisor \u2013 Associate Professor O.I.\u00a0Holovchenko), group 9801 Valeriia Pylypchuk, who presented a report on the topic &#8220;Development and conduct of validation tests of the method of identification and quantitative determination of the content of dexibuprofen in tablets (scientific supervisor \u2013 cand. of biol. sc.\u00a0 K.H. Vynohradova) and student Yehor Chumak (group 9802) for the report on the topic &#8220;Experimental development of a powder for external use with a delayed release of antimicrobial substances&#8221; (scientific supervisor \u2013 doctor of med. sc. N.O. This year, the Congress program included about 200 reports from 14 countries in 24 sections. At the &#8220;Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacology&#8221; section Bogomolets National Medical University was presented by a 5th-year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, member of Students&#8217; scientific club Fam Fonh Khoanh with a report \u201cEstablishing the relationship between antiradical activity and water solubility of S-quinazolines\u201d. The scientific supervisor of the research is the Associate Professor of the Department, PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences Olga Afanasenko. Karazin Kharkiv National University the 15th All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference of students and postgraduates &#8220;Chemical Karazin readings &#8211; 2023&#8221; took place. During the Conference, 4 sections worked: Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. An oral report on the topic &#8220;Analysis of medicinal substances of the aromatic structure for the presence of unacceptable impurities using the HPLC method&#8221; was performed by a member of the Students&#8217; scientific club of the Department, a 5th-year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Bogomolets National Medical University named after O.O. Viktoriia Shevchuk (supervisors: Prof. O.V. Welchinska, PhD R.A. Meleshko). Victoriia Shevchuk won the 3rd place among the 23 best reports of postgraduate students and students of chemical faculties. According to the decision of the competent commission, Viktoriia Shevchuk was awarded the III degree Certificate for successful scientific work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170676\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/526.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"827\" height=\"386\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>On March 27, 2023<\/strong> at Bogomolets National Medical University the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works in the fields of knowledge and specialties (&#8220;Pharmacology&#8221; section) took place in an online format. To participate in the competition, 6 participants from 3 Departments of the Faculty of Pharmacy submitted their works. The competition commission is headed by Professor, MDPhD, guarantor of the &#8220;Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy&#8221; program I.V. Nizhenkovska with the heads of specialized Departments of the Faculty of Pharmacy evaluated the relevance, scientific and practical significance of the completed research, the ability of the speakers to clearly answer the questions regarding the chosen topic of research. The member of the Students&#8217; scientific club of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicology, the 5th year student (8801 group) of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Bogomolets NMU Fam Fonh Khoanh was awarded a first-degree diploma for his work on the topic &#8220;Using the QSAR-analysis method for S-derivatives of quinazoline as promising medicinal products&#8221; (supervisor \u2013 Associate Professor, PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences Olga V. Afanasenko). Based on an open discussion of scientific works, their review, as well as a scientific discussion held at the second stage of the competition of scientific and practical conference, the branch competition commission decided to award the first place to a fifth-year student of the pharmaceutical faculty of the Bogomolets National Medical University, a member of the Students\ua78c Scientific Club of the department of pharmaceutical, biological and toxicological chemistry Mikhail Van Badri, for the work &#8220;Quantum chemical research of phosphorylated oxazole derivatives and their effect on phosphodiesterase activity&#8221; (supervisor &#8211; PhD in Pharmacology, Associate Professor Kateryna V. Teachers and members of the Students\ua78c Scientific Club of the department of pharmaceutical, biological and toxicological chemistry joined this event.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-111906\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/1017.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"437\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>On April 23, 2019<\/strong>, as part of the April Students\ua78c Scientific Session, a joint meeting of the department of pharmaceutical, biological and toxicological chemistry and the department of pharmacognosy and botany was held. The section was attended by third-, fourth- and fifth-year students. Innovative and traditional approaches to methods of phytochemical analysis and search for new medicines, as well as quality control of synthetic and homeopathic medicines were highlighted. All participants demonstrated a high level of mastery of the material and excellent skills in teaching the study.<\/p>\n<p>According to the results of the evaluation in the section of pharmaceutical chemistry, the prizes: were distributed as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st place &#8211; Ziskind Karina, a fifth-year student with a report &#8220;Determination of ambroxol hydrochloride in substance and dosage forms by absorption spectrophotometry in the ultraviolet region, thin-layer chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography&#8221; (the supervisor &#8211; head of the department of pharmaceutical, biological and toxicological chemistry MD, Professor Iryna V.
