The head of the department, Velyka Nataliya Volodymyrivna, consults the department personnel on the scientific activity issues ( tel. 063\u00a0369 6478).<\/p>\n

The main directions of scientific research of the department, when headed by professor V.I.Tsypriyan, were: studies of nutrition of Ukrainian population; scientific rationale of the ionizing radiation alimentary prevention on the radiation-contaminated areas; detecting common nutrient deficiencies and their prevention.<\/p>\n

The scientific study results made basis for 10 thesis to be defended ( 1 Doctor of Medicine thesis and 9 PhD theses). The department personnel introduced recipes and technological methods of curative and preventive beverages and food production, which have been confirmed with numerous patents.<\/p>\n

The scientific studies held under the supervision of prof. Omelchuk S.T. are related to standardizing the exogenous chemical substances, including pesticides, in the environmental objects (food products, water, atmospheric air, working area air). The other directions include prevention of the pesticides negative effect onto the population health and environment.<\/p>\n

Supervised by professor Omelchuk S.T., .the hygienic standardization of new substances is being conducted, resulting in approval of more than 1500 hygiene standards and regulations on safe use of chemical plant protection substances, introduction and practical implementation into the epidemiology service of 60 methods\u00a0 used for detection of residual plant protective agents in the biosphere objects.<\/p>\n

Professor Omelchuk S.T. eagerly consults young scientists regarding their scientific priorities, supervises the future PhDs studies. He has been the scientific supervisor of 8 Doctor of Medicine and 11 PhD theses.<\/p>\n

                          The collective of department took an active part in creation of the first national textbooks \u201cScience of nutrition\u201d (2002), textbook in two volumes \u201cFood hygiene with basics for science of nutrition\u201d (2007).<\/p>\n

                          In 2010 they also published 2 study guides, which are recommended by Ministry of education and science and Ministry of health care of Ukraine for students in dental faculties at higher medical schools \u201cHygiene of dental establishments\u201d (for national students) and \u201cHygienic and Epidemiological Demands for Dental clinics\u201d (for students in English speaking form of study). Three collections of guidelines \u201cHygiene and ecology\u201d (2009) were also published in English language.<\/p>\n

                          – Regulations about procedure and conditions for free of charge provision of employees, engaged into works with especially harmful and hard working conditions, therapeutic and preventive nutrition.<\/p>\n

                          – State regulatory documents \u201cRules for physiological needs in population of Ukraine in the main food substances and energy\u201d; \u201cAllowable levels for contents of radio nuclides 137Cs and 90Sr in food products and water\u201d; \u201cRecommendations for provision of workers in harmful and very harmful productions with therapeutic and preventive nutrition\u201d (2010).<\/p>\n

                          State sanitary regulations and rules \u201cHygienic requirements to location, arrangement, equipment and operation of perinatal centers\u201d, – DSanPiN 2.3.177-2012.<\/p>\n

                          Employees of department are members in editorial board of scientific journals \u201cHygiene of inhabited areas\u201d, \u201cUkrainian scientific medical journal for youth\u201d, \u201cWater supply and water industry\u201d, \u201cNutrition and health\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n
