The elective discipline: \u00abBasics of communication with a child\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2nd year. The educational discipline: \u00abCare of children in the pediatric department\u00bb.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2nd year. The elective discipline: \u00abFundamentals of caring for a healthy child\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3rd year. The educational discipline: \u00abPropedeutics of pediatrics, including nursing practice, basic medical skills in the pediatric department\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4th year. The educational discipline: \u00abPediatrics, including medical practice (professional training) childhood diseases\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4th year. The elective discipline: \u00abPediatric gastroenterology, pulmonology and nephrology\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5th year. The educational discipline: \u00abPediatrics, infectious diseases for children\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5th year. The elective discipline: \u00abFundamentals of neonatology\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6th year. The educational discipline: \u00abPediatrics, medical practice (children\u2019s diseases)\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6th year. The elective discipline: \u00abEmergencies in Pediatrics\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main clinical bases of the department are Kyiv City Children&#8217;s Clinical Hospital No. 2 and Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 3;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Department of Pediatrics No. 2 is the leading department among the departments of pediatrics of the Higher Medical Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annual All-Ukrainian educational and methodological conferences are held;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Development and updating of working curricula.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participation in the creation of a test bank (STEP-2, STEP-3) and examination of test tasks;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regular updating of methodological recommendations at the department;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creation of an English-language methodological block;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100% multimedia methodology for lecturing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Simulation training<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Training classroom of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Department of Pediatrics No. 2 of the NMU has established a training classroom at the KMCL No. 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the training classroom, the department&#8217;s teachers train NMU students in accordance with the working programs of the academic disciplines \u201cPatient Care\u201d (practice), \u201cPropaedeutics of Pediatrics, including Nursing Practice, Basic Medical Skills in the Pediatric Department,\u201d \u201cFundamentals of Neonatology,\u201d \u201cPediatrics, including Childhood Infectious Diseases, Industrial Medical Practice (Vocational Training) Childhood and Childhood Infectious Diseases,\u201d \u201cPediatric Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, and Nephrology\u201d for the preparation of masters in the specialties 222 \u2018Medicine\u2019 and 228 \u201cPediatrics.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Material and technical support for the training classroom:<\/b><span aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Umbilical vein catheterization kit<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ambu bag with a aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laptop with internet access<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Main areas of work in the training classroom:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Training of 5th and 6th year students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Medicine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Training is conducted in accordance with the working programs \u201cPediatrics with childhood infectious diseases, including industrial practice (vocational training)\u201d, \u201cPediatrics, including childhood infectious diseases, industrial medical practice (vocational training) childhood and childhood infectious diseases\u201d and \u201cFundamentals of Neonatology\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During practical classes, students learn algorithms for providing initial and resuscitation care to newborns.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holding meetings of the student scientific Pediatrics No. 2<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most important stages in the professional training of future doctors and an important niche in the formation of professional skills and the acquisition of medical skills is the effective system of practical training for higher education students at the Bogomolets National Medical University. At the clinical base of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2, headed by Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Volosovets O.P., at the Kyiv City Children&#8217;s Clinical Hospital No. 2, the largest children&#8217;s clinic on the left bank of the capital, additional classes were organized for students to master the necessary practical competencies in pediatrics in English.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the guidance of experienced teachers, students had the opportunity to participate in the care of young patients with allergic, cardiological, gastroenterological, and bronchopulmonary diseases. Future doctors acquired skills in conducting and interpreting laboratory and instrumental research methods, communicating with patients and their parents.
