Department of Surgery \u21161 offers practical training on its clinical bases.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Department offers the graduates, interns, masters, clinical residents, postgraduate studies.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The educational process’s organization is carried out according to the credit-modular system in accordance with the requirements of the dynamic development of the Bologna Process. The credit-modular system involves rotation modules of clinical disciplines and the gradual training of one Department for 4, 5, 6 years of training that provides the Department’s responsibility for the quality of students training on discipline \u00abSurgery\u00bb.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Department’s educational process is carried out for the students of medical faculty \u21161 and 4, Department for training English-speaking students (Faculty on training foreign citizens) at 4, 5, 6 courses. Teaching is carried out in accordance with the standard training program, developed by the staff of the Department, and with the following normative documents: educational qualifying characteristics (EQC) and educationally-professional programs (OPP) training, approved by the Ministry of Science and Sducation of Ukraine from 16.04.03 \u2116 239 \u00abOn approval for the components of the sectoral standards of higher education on a direction of preparation \u00abMedicine\u00bb : 1101; the order of the MOH of Ukraine of 31.01.2005, \u2116 52 \u00abOn approval and introduction of new educational plan of preparation of specialists educationally qualification level \u00abspecialist\u00bb qualification \u00abdoctor\u00bb in the higher educational establishments of III \u2013 IV levels of accreditation of Ukraine on specialities \u00abGeneral medicine\u00bb, \u00abPediatrics\u00bb, \u00abpreventive care\u00bb; the order of the MOH of Ukraine \u2116 414 of 23.07.07, \u00abOn amending the order of the MOH of Ukraine from 31.01.2005 \u2116 52 \u00abOn approval and introduction of new educational plan of preparation of specialists educationally qualification level \u00abspecialist\u00bb qualification \u00abdoctor\u00bb in the higher educational establishments of III-IV levels of accreditation of Ukraine on specialities \u00abGeneral medicine\u00bb, \u00abPediatrics\u00bb, \u00abpreventive care\u00bb; recommendations for Developing Training Programs of academic subjects, approved by the order of the MOH of Ukraine of 24.03.2004, \u2116 152 \u00abOn approving recommendations on development of educational programs of educational disciplines\u00bb with amendments and additions made by the order of the MOH of Ukraine of 12.10.2004, \u2116 492 \u00abOn amendments to the recommendations on development of educational programs of educational disciplines\u00bb; the order of the MOH of Ukraine of 31.01.03, \u2116148 \u00abOn measures to implement the provisions of the Bologna Declaration in the system of higher medical and pharmaceutical education \u00bb.<\/p>\n

The Department published a textbook \u00abSurgery\u00bb for improving the educational process. A new expanded edition of the textbook in Russian “Surgery” edited by Professor M.P.Zakharash, was published in July 2011.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition, the employees of the Department have developed several thematic guidelines. Methodical recommendations for professors should help them in their more effective teaching.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For 4,5,6 years students, according to the educational plan, we created a base of the methodological recommendations for training on each lesson topic. For the faculty of preparation of English-speaking students, we have written some methodological recommendations in English.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition to the training materials, the Department staff has created a database of the test control used for the intermediate and final module control.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Department pays special attention to students’ training at the Department of Surgery \u21161 for the licensing examination \u00abKrok-2\u00bb. The Department employees regularly update the test base \u00abKrok-2 Surgery\u00bb \u2013 add new exercises to the general database \u00abKrok-2\u00bb of the testing center.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Last year several books were published with employees’ direct participation of the Department of Surgery \u21161 a textbook \u00abEndoscopy of internal organs\u00bb. \u2013 Kyiv \u2013 Vistka \u2013 2010 (335p.) and teaching Atlas “Retained tissue after high-frequency welding surgery” \u2013 Kyiv: Naukova Dumka. \u2013 2009 (200 p.). The Department wrote and approved 3 methodological recommendations with the stamp of Ukrmedpatentinform: M.P.Zakharash, V.D.Parii, V.O.Yakovenko , N.V. Kharchenko, O.G. Kuryk, G.A.Soloviova, K.V.Barannikov “Screening precancerous changes and stomach cancer”\/\/Methodical recommendations. \u2013 Kyiv. \u2013 B rand . \u2013 2009. \u2013 32 p., M.P.Zakharash, N.V., Kharchenko, S.V. An important contribution to the development of educational and methodical work is creating a video library of surgical interventions. Students have access to this training. For today the library includes videos of the following surgical interventions: Laparoscopic hernioplasty, Laparoscopic fundoplication, Electric welding of biological tissues, Left-sided hemicolectomy, Laparoscopic vaginoplasty, Reconstructive colon surgery, Mini-invasive surgical interventions, controlled ultrasound, Hernioplasty, Acute cholecystitis. The above films are used for demonstration at the practical and lecture classes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Department staff involves their students in preparation (and participation) in the Department’s educational and research activities. They can get additional information concerning the development of surgical science and medical-consultative at the present stage. Last year the Department organized the thematic scientific-practical conferences: \u00ab Laparoscopic technologies in modern surgery\u00bb, Master-class on abdominal single-port laparoscopy surgery, Meetings of the society of surgeons of Kyiv and Kyiv region every month (a total of 10 meetings).<\/p>\n

All new scientific ideas, which were developed on the basis of the Department of Surgery \u21161 are implemented in the department educational process<\/p>\n
