yavorovskyj Oleksandr Petrovych Yavorovskyi

Head of department, MD, Professor, Academician of NAS of Ukraine

Professor O.P. Yavorovsky has been the chair of department since 1993. He passed the postgraduate, assistant, associate professor’s practice at the department, defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Occupational hygiene in the production and processing of epoxy resins and plastics” (1990). Winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, author of 341 scientific works, including 18 books (monographs, textbooks, manuals, dictionaries). He trained 12 Doctors and PhDs. The results of scientific researches performed at the department under the leadership of O.P. Yavorovskyi formed the basis of the scientific substantiation of the maximal permissible concentrations for epoxy resins, adhesives based on them and other compounds, “Sanitary rules for the production and using of epoxy resins and materials based on them” (1990), guidelines “Hygienic requirements for working conditions and prevention of diseases in workers engaged in the production of epoxy resins and plastics on their basis ”(1988), State Standard of Ukraine No. 2093 1992 “Solid Epoxy-diane noncuring resins ”.

Department of Occupational Health and Occupational Diseases has been researching the working conditions of workers engaged in the production and using of nanomaterials in various synthesis technologies, studying the biosafety of nanomaterials in relation to different biological objects under the O.P. Yavorovsky initiative since 2008.

paustovskyj Paustovskyy Yuriy, MD, Professor.

Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology 2 of the NMU. He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention of the Bogomolets National Medical University in 1994.

In 1999 he defended his PhD thesis on “Hygienic assessment of the effect of epoxy compositions on the reproductive function of women in the conditions of production and justification of wellness measures” and in 2016 – a doctoral dissertation on the topic “Hygienic assessment of the global environmental pollutant methyl tertbutyl ether and molecular-genetic mechanisms of its action on the body” (Hygienic Assessment of Methyl Tertiary-Butyl Ether as a Global Environmental Pollutant and Molecular Genetic Mechanisms of its Action in a Living Organism).

Scientific interests: industrial toxicology, occupational health, occupational health and safety.

Co-author of 158 scientific papers, including 2 textbooks, 9 textbooks, 7 utility model patents, 4 fact sheets, 12 model and sample programs.

Paustovskyy Yu.O. actively participates in public work of the University. He is a member of professional union Committee staff since 2000 and responsible for labor protection at NMU.

Member of “All-Ukrainian Association of Scientists and Physicians in Occupational Pathology and Occupational Health”.

zenkyna Zenkina Valentyna, Associate Professor of the department, PhD.

 

She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention of the Bogomolets National Medical University in 1994.

From 1995 to 2002 she had been studying at the postgraduate course at the Department of General Hygiene, Occupational Health and Occupational Diseases of the Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2003 she defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Hygienic prediction of toxicity of epoxy compounds based on statistical methods and quantum chemistry” («Hygienic prognostication of epoxide toxicity based on statistics and quantum chemistry methods»).

Scientific interests: occupational hygiene, industrial toxicology, occupational health and safety.

Co-author of about 130 printed scientific works, including the textbook “Occupational Health”, 9 textbooks, 40 methodological instructions for practical classes, 12 typical and exemplary programs, 2 monographs.

Member of “All-Ukrainian Association of Scientists and Physicians in Occupational Pathology and Occupational Health”.

veremej Veremey Mykhailo, Associate Professor, PhD

In 1974 he graduated from the faculty of sanitary and hygiene of the Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute.

From 1974 he worked at the Department of Occupational hygiene and Occupational Diseases of KMI in the position of junior scientist, since 1979 – senior scientist, since 1986 – Assistant Professor, and from 1998 to the present – Associate Professor.

In 1988 he defended his PhD thesis on the theme: “Occupational hygiene in the production of laminated extruded insulating materials based on epoxy and phenol-formaldehyde resins”.

From 1994 to 2013 – Deputy Dean for Scientific and Educational Work of the Medical Faculty №4. He is responsible for scientific work at the department. He is the author and co-author of more than 100 printed scientific works. Higher category doctor in occupational health.

Member of the Commission on Hygiene Regulation of Chemicals in the Air of the Working Zone of the Committee on Hygiene Regulation of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

zynchenko-okon ZinchenkoTetiana, Associate Professor, PhD

In 2008 she graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University. Worked as a general hygiene doctor at the sanitary and epidemiological station of Svyatoshinskyi district of Kyiv. In 2009 she defended her master’s thesis. From 2009 to 2011 she studied in full-time postgraduate studies.

In 2011 she defended her PhD thesis on the topic: “Hygienic and toxicological aspects of the prevention of the adverse effects of silver nanoparticles”.

Since 2010 she has been working as an assistant of the department.

Since 2019 she has been working as an associate professor of the department.

Scientific interests: nanotoxicology, occupational health, occupational health and safety.

Co-author of more than 30 scientific papers, including 1 textbook, 3 textbooks, 1 monograph, 6 utility model patents, 1 fact sheet.

At the department deals with the organization and control of the educational process.

 

soloha Taran Nina, Associate Professor, PhD

 

In 2013 graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2013 completed research work to obtain the educational and qualification level of “Master of Medicine”.

She prepared and successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis on the topic: “Physiological, hygienic and toxicological aspects of risk management of the influence of harmful production factors in obtaining nanopowders of refractory anoxic compounds of metals” and received the degree of candidate of medical sciences.

Since 2014 she was an assistant at the Department of Occupational Health and Occupational Diseases.

Since 2019, Associate Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology 2.

Research interests: occupational health, nanotoxicology, occupational health and safety.

Author and co-author of more than 60 printed scientific works, including 7 textbooks, 30 methodical instructions for practical classes, information sheet, patent for utility model and guidelines. Participant in international nanomedicine projects.

In the department is engaged in teaching (in three languages), scientific and educational-methodical work.

bruhno Brukhno Roman, Associate Professor, PhD

 

Graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University in 2014.

2014-2015 – internship and master’s degree at the Department of Occupational Health and Occupational Diseases of Bogomolets National Medical University.

2015-2018 – postgraduate study at the Department of Occupational Health and Occupational Diseases of Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2018 he defended his thesis entitled «Hygienic evaluation of occupational factors influence on the health of operators bottling soft and low-alcohol drinks and prevention of its adverse effects »

Scientific interests: occupational health, medical toxicology, occupational safety, safety of hospital environment.

Author and co-author of about 70 printed scientific works, including 7 textbooks, 30 methodical instructions for practical classes, 1 monograph, 2 information sheets and 1 methodical recommendation.

He is engaged in scientific and teaching work of the department.

Kudiievskyi Yaroslav, assistant, PhD

 

Graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University in 2003.

2003 – 2021– worked at the State Institution «Kundiiev Institute of Occupational Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» in the laboratories of physiology of mental work as a junior researcher, and later in the laboratory of occupational health and physiology in shift work as a researcher.

In 2011 he defended his PhD thesis on the topic: “Peculiarities of changes in bioelectrical activity of the brain during neuro-emotional stress and prevention of fatigue in people with mental work”.

Since 2010 he has been working as an assistant of the department of hygiene and ecology №2.

Аuthor and co-author of about 50 printed scientific works, including 2 methodological developments, 2 information sheets, also has a patent for a utility model and a certificate of copyright registration for a work.

At the department, he is engaged in teaching, scientific and educational-methodical work.

 

Vasyl Riabovol, assistant of the department, a postgraduate student

 

In 2017, he graduated from the Medical Faculty No. 4 of Bogomolets National Medical University

From 2017 to 2018, he completed an internship in the specialty “General hygiene” at the departments of the medical and preventive profile of Bogomolets NMU.

From 2018 to 2019, he worked as a general hygiene doctor at the State Institution “Cherkassky regional laboratory center of the Ministry of health of Ukraine” (now the State Institution “Cherkassky regional center for disease control and prevention of the Ministry of health of Ukraine”)

Since 2019, he is a postgraduate student of the Department of Hygiene and Ecology No. 2 of Bogomolets NMU. He also work as an assistant at the department (0.5 rates).

He is working on the completion of a dissertation for the PhD degree in the specialty 222 Medicine of hygiene and occupational pathology according to the approved topic “Comparative toxicological and hygienic assessment and prevention of adverse effects of titanium dioxide nanopowders and nanotitanium dioxide composite with nanosilver under production conditions.”

Scientific interests: nanotoxicology, occupational hygiene, hygiene and ecology, labor protection in the medical field.

Author and co-author of more than 20 printed scientific works, including 1 textbook, 1 patent for a utility model.

He is engaged in scientific, teaching and educational and methodological work at the department.

 

 
Ustіak Natalia, assistant, PhD

 

In 2009, she graduated from the State Economy and Technology University of Transport and received the qualification of a mechanical engineer.

2009 – 2012 – postgraduate study at the Department of Life Safety and Ecology of the National Technical University of Ukraine.

In 2013, she defended her candidate’s thesis and received a scientific degree in the History of science and technology.

2014 – 2020 – worked at Kyiv International University as an associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology and deputy director of the college.

Participates in professional associations by specialty: academician of the International Academy of Life Safety, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine.

Author and co-author of more than 60 publications, including: 1 (monograph); 21 professional articles (including 4 articles in foreign languages, 1 of them was published abroad, 6 in scientific publications); more than 30 report abstracts; and educational and methodical publications.

Scientific interests: safety psychology, occupational safety and hygiene, occupational health and safety of medical workers, life safety, etc.

At the department, she is engaged in teaching, scientific and educational-methodical work.
