In 1995. employees of the Department O.O. Bogomolets NMU and employees of the hospital № 15 in Kyiv established Kyiv city center of the abdominal hernias surgery.

 

In the center the first time in Ukraine (1995) used an auxiliary plastic material (polypropylene mesh) in the treatment of hernias. Over time the center working developed and implemented in everyday modern treatment methods of plastic in all kinds of abdominal hernias, received over 18 patents of Ukraine and Russia, published a monograph “Abdominal hernias”, written over 85 scientific articles, 1 doctoral dissertation and 4 Ph.D. theses.

 

Laparoscopic hernioplastic

Department staff have extensive experience in treating both primary and recurrent hernias various sites including diaphragmatic hernia. It performed both open and laparoscopic surgery for original methods.
