DEPARTMENT OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

In 1986, he first transplanted the patient’s own metatarsophalangeal and metatarsophalangeal joints instead of the temporomandibular joint; improved distraction method, osteotomy of the middle area of ​​the face for the treatment of defects and deformities of the jaws; proposed new biological surgical methods for the treatment of a number of diseases of the facial skull. In 1977, together with associate professor V.V. Los’ restored modern dental implantation in the country. V.O. Malanchuk discovered new types and properties of osteogenic human progenitor cells, proposed biologically reasoned bone operations and mechanisms of influence on osteogenesis.

Vladyslav Oleksandrovych was a participant in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident in May 1986. At 1996 he founded and headed the Ukrainian Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons, the representative of Ukraine in the Council of the International and European Associations of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons, a member of the International Association of Implantologists, Vice President of the All-Ukrainian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, member of the expert council “Surgery” of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine (1998-2000), professor-consultant of the Main Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination of Ukraine and the Medical Service of the Security Service of Ukraine, member of the editorial boards of a number of journals, chief specialist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (2003-2005). In 2002-2005 – Head of the Department of Health, Family, Youth, Physical Culture and Tourism of the Humanitarian Policy Department of the Main Department of Internal Policy of the Administration of the President of Ukraine. Member of state commissions to investigate plane crashes (Norway, 1996; Greece, 1997), state biosafety, interstate adoption of children. He completed an internship in the dental college of the University of Dublin (Ireland, 1993), Monchengladbach (Germany, 1994). He prepared a number of draft documents on the humanitarian policy of the state, contributed together with Academician O.A. Vozianov creation of the Institute of Genetic and Regenerative Medicine at the National Academy of Medical Sciences, the Institute of Immunology at the National Medical University. In the framework of cooperation between the NMU and the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden) on May 26, 2009, Professor V.O. Malanchuk gave a lecture on osteogenesis, his student G. Tour completed 5 years of training and he defended his PhD thesis, the best in medicine of Sweden at 2012.

Professor V.O. Malanchuk is the author of more than 980 scientific works, including 5 national textbooks, 6 monographs, textbooks and programs, more than 160 inventions. He has prepared 5 doctors and 28 candidates of sciences, held 25 international congresses and conferences.

From 1996 to 1999 – assistant professor of surgical dentistry part-time, and since 1999 she was elected as an assistant professor of surgical dentistry of the Bogomolets National Medical University by competition.

In 2000 she defended her thesis by the topic: “Clinical and biomechanical substantiation of the choice of grafts for the reconstruction of the mandible and temporomandibular joint.”

Since September 2004 – Head of studies of the Department. In December 2004, the topic of the doctoral thesis was approved: “Diagnosis, treatment of the temporomandibular joint diseases on the background of somatic diseases”. In November 2004 she was elected as an associate professor of the Department by competition, in 2006 she received the academic title of associate professor. In 2013 she defended her doctoral thesis. Professor of the Department since 2014, received the title of professor in 2016.

Doctor surgeon-dentist of the highest category. She took part in international congresses, attended courses in Italy, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Turkey, Great Britain, Czech Republic and others.

Member of the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons, the European Association of Osteosynthesis, the Ukrainian Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons, Ukrainian Dental Association, etc. Member of the Specialized Council for the defense of dissertations on the specialty “Dentistry”, the approbation council and the CMC of the Dental Faculty of NMU.

From 1981 to 1983 she studied in a clinical residency, from 1984 – in correspondence postgraduate course at the Department of Surgical Dentistry of KMI. From 1983 to 1989 she worked as a doctor in the Surgical Department of the dental clinic of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. In 1989 she was elected as an assistant of the Department of Surgical Dentistry of KMI.

In 1990 she defended her thesis and received the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences. In 1991-1996 she improved her skills in maxillofacial surgery clinics in the USA and Germany, with which she continues to work today.

Since 2002 – Associate Professor of Surgical Dentistry, Bogomolets National Medical University. In 2015 she defended her doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and received the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, selected by competition for the position of Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. Member of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Dentistry.

Author and co-author of 122 scientific and methodological works, monographs, textbooks, four textbooks in English, 6 patents of Ukraine and 4 Certificates of Copyright for the work. At the invitation of the administration of N.I. Pirogov Vitebsk State Medical University she has been cooperating in the areas of specialization and modern pedagogical approaches in higher medical education since 2013.

She is a member of the Ukrainian Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Ukrainian Dental Association, co-founder and Scientific Secretary of the Ukrainian Association of Dental Education. He has more than 100 publications, including co-author of 4 textbooks and manuals, author of 12 inventions and patents, 5 guidelines, 8 proposals. He has repeatedly represented the Department at various scientific symposia, conferences, congresses both in Ukraine and abroad, where he made reports. In 2005 he was on an internship at the Medical Research Center in Phoenix (Arizona, USA). Has the highest medical qualification category. He is a member of international associations: IAMFS, AOMFS, AO.

She has 14 published scientific works, 2 patents of Ukraine. Prepares a monograph on the topic of the candidate’s thesis.

In 2007-2009 – Internship in “Dentistry” at the Department. From 2007 to 2010 – senior laboratory assistant, from 2010 to 2012 – clinical resident of the Department, from December 2012 – full-time postgraduate student of the Department. In 2015, she defended her PhD thesis on “Treatment of fractures of the zygomatic bone with correction of the neuromuscular system.” From 2015 to 2017 – assistant (teaching experience 6 years). Since September 2017 and until now she has been working as an associate professor of the Department. In 2019 she received the academic title of “Associate Professor”.

Fluent in English, has a level of B-2. Conducts practical classes with students of 3-5 courses, including in English-speaking groups of students, raises the scientific, professional and methodological level, participates in the development of educational and methodological developments and manuals. She is a co-author of the work program on the elective cycle for 5th year students. Responsible for scientific and international work of the Department. Participant and speaker at 2 congresses of the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Congress of Dentists (2012, 2014, 2017).

She is working on a scientific paper on the topic: “Surgical treatment of complications and consequences of traumatic injuries of the middle part of the face.”

In 2015 he was elected as an associate professor of the Department. In 1993 defended his thesis by the topic: “Differential diagnosis and treatment of non-neoplastic diseases of the parotid glands” (research supervisor – prof. O.O. Timofeev). In 2015, he was awarded the highest qualification category in the specialty “surgical dentistry”.
