Oleksand Ivanovych Poida

 

Born in Kyiv. In 1977 he graduated with honors from the Medical Faculty of the Kyiv Medical Institute. Acad. O.O Bogomolets in the specialty “medical business” and was recommended for scientific work.

From 1977 to 1978 – surgeon – intern of the clinical hospital № 22 in Kyiv. From 1978 to 1979 – a resident of the surgical Department of the same hospital.

From 1979 to 1982, he was a clinical resident, and since 1982 – an assistant at the Department of Surgery at the Kiev Medical Institute. From 1994 – Assistant Professor, since 1998 till now – Professor of the Department of Faculty Surgery №1 (since 2008 – Surgery №1) of the O.O. National Medical University. In 1984 he defended his Ph.D. thesis, in 1994 – his Ph.D. In 1996 he was awarded the associate professor’s rank in 2001 – the academic title of Professor of the Department of Faculty Surgery # 1 of the National Medical University. Since 2011 he is a full member of the Ukrainian Technological Academy in the department “Modern medical technologies” with academicians’ title. From October 2013 to November 2014 – Acting Head of Surgery # 1. He has undergone training in surgery and healthcare organization in the USA, Austria, Germany, France, Poland.

The main scientific activity directions are restorative and reconstructive-restorative surgery of the digestive canal, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of intra-abdominal complications, surgical rehabilitation of patients with a coloproctological profile.

Has prepared 5 candidates and 1 doctor of medical sciences. He is the author of 331 scientific works, among them 2 textbooks, 3 monographs, 123 articles, 87 abstracts, 116 inventions, 16 of which are protected by copyright certificates of the USSR and 100 by patents of Ukraine. Member of Academic Council 1 of the Medical Faculty of NMU. Member of the Board of Appeal of NMU “General Surgery Issues”. Member of Specialized Academic Council D 26.003.03 NMU, Vice-President of the Association of Coloproctologists of Ukraine. Higher category surgeon. Honored Doctor of Ukraine.

The total length of service in the specialty – 42 years, in NMU – 40 years.

 

 

 

Mykhail Petrovich Zakharash

 

Professor of the Department of Surgery №1 of O.O.Bogomolets National Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, elected 06.11.2003 in the specialty “Proctology”, Doctor of Medical Sciences (1990), Professor (1991), Honorary Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Belarus, Honored Doctor of Ukraine (1987), Laureate State Prize in Science and Technology of Ukraine (2004). President of the Association of Coloproctologists of Ukraine, doctor of the highest qualification category in the specialties “Surgery” and “Proctology”. Main directions of scientific and medical – diagnostic activity: surgery of hepatopancreatic – duodenal zone; laparoscopic surgery and gynecology; surgical treatment of cancer of the colon and rectum and its complications; primary-restorative and reconstructive bowel surgery; conservative and surgical treatment of patients with non-specific ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease; clinical use of sorption methods of detoxification and plasmacytopheresis in surgery and proctology; the development of surgical procedures using the latest technologies. Medico – biological consequences of the Chornobyl Accident. He is the author of 532 scientific works, including 40 monographs and textbooks and 52 patents, including 2 Ukrainian-American and 1 Russian Federation. The five-volume textbook “Surgery” was recognized as a national textbook, and in 2012 it was awarded the State Prize of Ukraine. Has trained 4 doctors and 12 candidates of medical sciences. President of the Association of Coloproctologists of Ukraine, a member of the Presidium of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine, coloproctologists of Russia, a member of the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Europe, Russia, Ukraine, a member of the European Organization for the Study of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis (ECCO), a member of the editorial boards of twelve national and 3 foreign journals.

 

 

Olga M. Kovalenko, Ph.D., M.D., Prof.

 

State Prize laureate in the field of science and technology of Ukraine

Honored Doctor of Ukraine.

Member of the European Burn Association and

member of the European Wound Management Association.

 Biography.

She graduated Poltava Medical Institute and clinical internship at Kyiv Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (burn injury).

After that she has been working on the position of head of children’s burn department of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital #23.

In 2002 she defended Candidate’s thesis “Influence of early surgical treatment on the course of burn disease in adults”.

In 2012 she defended her Doctoral thesis “Pathogenetic substantiation of surgical treatment programs for children with severe burn and their influence on the course of wound healing”.

Directions of scientific work:

Burn surgery, reconstructive and plastic surgery after burn injuries and strains.
Consultant of the Ukrainian mobile station of emergency medical treatment of Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

 

Mykola Dmytrovych Kucher

 

MD, PhD, Professor, consultant colorectal surgeon, who joined  O. Bohomolets National Medical University, Surgery department #1 in 1985.

He has a professional interest in inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor surgery and surgery for colorectal cancer. He has extensive experience in laparoscopic surgery and has been innovative in developing minimally invasive surgical techniques.

He was awarded a PhD in pancreas morphology in 1986, and Sc.D. in general surgery in 2002.

He is member of ESCP (European Society of Coloproctology), EAES (European Association for Endoscopic Surgery).

 

 

Jurii Mykhailovych Zakharash

 

In 1996 he graduated with honors from the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University. In 2000 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on “Optimization of surgical tactics and technique of performing laparoscopic cholecystectomy in patients with gallstone disease and its complications”.From January 2005 till  December 2007, studied in doctoral studies at the National Academy of Surgery and Transplantation, named after O.O. Shalimov, Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. In June 2008, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Diagnostic and therapeutic tactics in mechanical jaundice using mini-invasive and electrowelding technologies”, received a diploma “Doctor of Medical Sciences”. From 2009 to the present time – Professor of the Department of Surgery №1 of NMU. The academic title of Professor of Surgery was awarded in 2011. In November 2008. was awarded the highest qualification category in the specialty “Surgery”, in 2016 – the first category in the specialty “Proctology”. Performs full volume of open and laparoscopic surgical interventions on abdominal organs and adjacent organs.  Winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology for the development and introduction into surgical practice of the method of electrowelding of living biological tissues. The main scientific and therapeutic and diagnostic activity directions are hepatobiliary, laparoscopic surgery, bowel surgery, hernia, vascular surgery, and more. Author of 152 scientific works, 4 monographs, co-author of 5 methodical recommendations and 4 textbooks, 9 patents of Ukraine for invention. Member of Association of Coloproctologists of Ukraine, Association of Surgeons of Ukraine, Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Europe, European Organization for the Study of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis (ECCO).

 

 

 

Bilyansky Leonid Semenovich

 

Bilyansky Leonid Semenovich graduated from Ternopil State Medical Institute in 1975 with a degree in medical treatment. From 1976 to 1983 the district surgeon, the district oncologist. In 1985 he graduated from the Kiev Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Surgery with a residency at the Institute of Surgery and Transplantation named after OO Shalimov. From 1987 to 1993 – head of the Department of Surgery of the esophagus, stomach, and intestines. In 2005 he was selected as a Senior Research Fellow, in February 2008 he was promoted to the position of a Leading Research Fellow, and in April – Chief Research Fellow. In 1996 he defended his PhD, and in 2006 – his Ph.D. In October 2014, he was elected Head of the Department of Surgery # 1 by competition. In December 2019 he was re-elected Professor. Since 2000, he has combined the practical and scientific work of a surgeon with pedagogical part-time. Experience of scientific and pedagogical work – 19 years.

Areas of surgery: surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus, stomach, colon and rectum, surgery for chronic disorders of the passage of the 12th cavity, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and reconstructive and restorative surgery of the digestive canal, surgery for bile duct surgery and metabolic syndrome (including type 2 diabetes), surgery for hernias of various origins and complex defects of the abdominal wall, including those with skin-to-skin movement ovyh scraps and plastic component separation. She is fluent in laparoscopic surgery on abdominal organs. She has extensive experience in the treatment of peritonitis and intestinal fistula.

 

 

Melnik Vladimir Mikhailovich

 

Born in 1958, doctor of medical Sciences, Professor of Department of surgery № 1, academician of the Ukrainian Technological Academy, surgeon of the highest category.

In 1985 graduated from the 1 medical faculty of Kyiv medical Institute. Acad. A. A. Bogomolets.

In 1985-1987 – studied at the clinical residency at the Department of surgery of NMU. A. A. Bogomolets.

In 1988-1991 – the Intern of surgical branch TSRB city Vasilkov Kyiv region.

Since 1991 assistant Professor, associate Professor, Professor of Department of surgery № 1 of Bogomolets national medical University the name of A. Bogomolets.

The author of a new restorative, reconstructive, reconstructive operations on the digestive tract, which are fundamentally different from the known analogues and have been successfully used in Coloproctological center of Ukraine. These operations allow to provide sufficiently high-quality surgical care and a significant level of rehabilitation. Is the initiator, developer and responsible executor of a modern, competitive technologies, in particular, the development of suturing devices for the formation of anastomoses on the organs of the alimentary canal.

Author of 257 scientific papers, 84 inventions, protected by patents of Ukraine, 2 monographs, co-author of 2 books on surgery and 2 encyclopedias.

Member in approbation Council of NMU “General issues of surgery”.

Awarded the diploma of the Presidium of the Academy of medical Sciences of Ukraine for series of works “Rehabilitation of cancer patients and diffuse inflammatory disease of the colon”.

Awarded the Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for merits before Ukrainian people. Work experience in the specialty and 35 years at the National medical University 31.

 

 

Vitalii Mykolaiovych Maltsev

 

Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery №1, M.D.

Maltsev VM graduated from the Cabinet of Ministers in 1966. medical faculty. In 1969 he entered the clinical residency at the Department of Faculty Surgery (head Matyashin GM). Assistant of the department since 1972. In 1993 he received the title of associate professor of the department. Candidate of Medical Sciences, author and co-author of 117 scientific papers, four monographs, awarded a diploma of III degree for participation in VDNH. Author and co-author of 15 inventions in proctology.

Surgery on the colon, rectum, soft tissues of the perineum.

 

 

 

Tetiana Georgiivna Kravchenko

 

MD, PhD, Associate Professor, consultant colorectal surgeon, who joined O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University, Surgery department #1 in 1998.

She has a professional interest in inflammatory bowel disease, functional bowel disorders. She has extensive experience in clinical research and management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

She was awarded a PhD in surgery in 2000 “The optimization of indication for the choice of medical management of small and large bowel Crohn’s disease”.

She is author of 34 scientific papers.

She is member of ECCO (European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization), AGA (American Gastroenterological Association).

 

 

 

Andrii Petrovych Lutsyk

 

Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery №1, M.D. PhD

Andriy Lutsyk graduated from National  Medical University in 1996 with honor. From 1996 to 1996 studied in magistracy and from1999 to 2002 – in postgraduate fellowship at the National Medical University. A.Lutsyk obtained PhD degree in 2004.

From 1999 to 2007 worked as surgeon at the proctological department of Kyiv city clinical hospital #18, from 2007 to 2017 – assistant professor at the Surgery #1 department of the National medical university and from 2017 to present date – associated professor at the Surgery #1 department of the National medical university.

A.Lutsyk is author of 31 scientific papers.

Areas of practical interest: inflammatory bowel diseases, colorectal surgery.

 

 

 

Moroz Vladyslav Vladyslavovych

 

Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery №1, M.D.

Moroz Vladyslav Vladyslavovych graduated with honors from Bogomolets National Medical University in 2007 with specialization in Medicine.
From 2007 to 2010 completed an internship, and during 2010-2012 – clinical residency of the Department of Surgery №1 at Bogomolets National Medical University.

2012-2016 received postgraduate education at the Department of Surgery № 1 at Bogomolets National Medical University.

In 2017 defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Medicine.
During 2016-2019 worked as an assistant of the department.
Since 2019 has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Surgery №1.
In 2020 was awarded an Associate Professor Degree of the Department of Surgery.

Occupying the posts mentioned above, successfully combines practical and scientific surgery work with pedagogical activity.
Gained additional specialties which widely uses in a clinical and scientific work: «Ultrasonic Diagnosis» (since 2011), «Health Organization and Management» (since 2017), «Proctology» (since 2018).

He is the author of 1 tutorial, 40 scientific papers, 4 patents of Ukraine, a participant and organizer of scientific-practical conferences in Ukraine and abroad.

Areas of his clinical activity: General and abdominal surgery, Minimally invasive surgical intervention techniques – laparoscopic and under ultrasonic and X-ray television examination, Plastic and aesthetic surgery, Surgical intervention on the rectum and anal canal diseases, Ultrasonic diagnosis of abdominal cavity organs and retroperitoneum, mammal gland, thyroid, soft tissues.

Participation in public and organizational activities.
While working at the University he is a member of Admission Committee at Bogomolets National Medical University.
In 2012-2017 was the Head of Young Scientists and Specialists Society at NMU, Chief editor of professional scientific publication «Scientific and Medical Youth Journal» (2012, and further – Deputy Chief editor).

Since 2015 – the Head of public organization «Young Scientists and Specialists Society», since 2016 – the Secretary of All-Ukraine public organization «Association of coloproctologists of Ukraine», since 2017 – the Secretary of Presidium «Scientific society of surgeons of Kyiv city and region», Vice-President of All-Ukraine public organization «Ukrainian association of psychologists».

 

 

 

Vladyslav Borysovych Korolenko

 

Assistant of the Department of Surgery №1, MD.

In 1972 graduated from the medical faculty of NMU. OO Bogomolets, majoring in surgery. Since 1976 he has been working at the Department of Surgery №1. In 1989 he defended his dissertation. Proctologist surgeon of the highest category. He has published 105 scientific papers in Ukrainian and foreign publishing houses. He has 3 patents of Ukraine. Member of the European Association of Proctologists. He was awarded the Diploma of the Ministry of Health. Areas of scientific-practical and medical-consultative work: methods of treatment of small proctological diseases, cryodestruction in the treatment of hemorrhoids, consultative work, small proctology.

Assistant of the Department of Surgery №1.

Born in 1992, graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University in 2015. In the period from August 2015 – June 2018, he completed residency in the specialty “General surgery” at the O. Bohomolets National Medical University. Residency rotations were located at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital №1, which is a clinical base of the Department of Surgery, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of National Academy of Postgraduate Education. Since September 2018 he has been working as an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery № 1 of O. Bohomolets National Medical University. The main areas of his ​​work are general surgery and perineal coloproctology.

 

 

 

Olha Haluzynska

 

Assistant of the Department of Surgery №1.

1997-2003 Danylo Halytskyi Lviv State Medical University, Medical Faculty. 07.02.2005 awarded the title of specialist in the specialty “Surgery”. From 2005 to 2019, she worked as a resident doctor of the surgical Department of the Kyiv Clinical Hospital on the railway transport of PJSC “Ukrainian Railways” Branch “Health Center”. From 2010 to 2014 she was enrolled in graduate school for distance learning at the State Institution “Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism. VP Komisarenko. ” 28.02.2017 She received the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences.

From 02.08.2019 to the present I work as an assistant at the Department of Surgery №1 of the National Medical University. O.O. Worshipers.

Author of 9 articles, 4 utility model patents, 4 abstracts and co-author of the handbook of endocrinologists.
