Thus, the staff of the department take an active part in international, all-Ukrainian and inter-university scientific, scientific and practical conferences, seminars, international scientific schools and symposia (Austria, Great Britain, Georgia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, the United States of America, the Czech Republic , Switzerland)

The task of student science is to find gifted youth capable of generating scientific ideas; ensuring the heredity of scientific schools and the continuity of scientific research; formation of internal and inter-university communicative scientific ties; expansion of a young person’s worldview; ensuring the image and high scientific rating of the department and university. These tasks are fully implemented in the student scientific circles of the department.

The Department of General and Medical Psychology successfully operates scientific circles attended by more than 100 students. Under the guidance of qualified teachers, students are involved in scientific research, the results of which are presentations at conferences and seminars. The best works of young researchers are published in scientific journals.

Members of the student scientific circle take an active part in the scientific life of the department and the faculty, together with teachers hold round tables and scientific seminars. This is evidenced by the fact that only in recent years at annual student scientific conferences and conferences, about 27 reports have been made by our young members. The students of Hurtkiv also take part in the All-Ukrainian Olympiads and take part in the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works in natural sciences and humanities in the field of “Gender Studies”, at which students won prizes (in 2007 – 3rd place, 2008 – 1st place, 2011 – 1st place).

Long-term experience shows that the work of students in a scientific circle is a significant opportunity both for improving students’ knowledge, developing creative thinking, and for promoting scientific research work in the future.

Therefore, the department of general and medical psychology determines the priority areas of comprehensive development of pedagogical and psychological science, conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of psychology, medicine, higher medical education, training highly qualified scientific personnel in the field of psychology and medical psychology.
