The Department of General and Medical Psychology actively cooperates with foreign scientific and educational institutions.

Since its foundation, students from Europe, Asia, Africa, and America have been studying at the department. These are mainly foreigners of the English-language form of teaching.

The establishment of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology in 2001 contributed to the revitalization of international relations. In particular, together with German colleagues, joint master classes and lectures on clinical psychology, psychodiagnostics, and pathopsychology were held.

In recent years, fruitful cooperation of individual employees of the department with foreign colleagues has been ongoing. So, in 2012, the department established contacts with the University of Psychotherapy named after Sigmund Freud (Vienna, Austria), and developed by Academician S.D. Maximenko’s diagnostic methods are included in the European Bank of Research Procedures at the Max Planck Institute (Munich).

The department cooperates with the Lublin Medical University and the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.

Employees of the department are also members of international professional associations: Matyash M.M. Scientific and pedagogical staff of the department, students and postgraduates constantly take an active part in international congresses, conferences and seminars, such as “3rd International Conference on Education and Educational Psychology”, 2012, “6th international and 11th national congress of clinical psychology”, Spain, 2013, “6th International Conference on Psychology Education”, 2014 Flagstaff, Arizona, USA, “17th European Conference on Personality, Lausanne (Switzerland), 2014”, “22nd International Congress of the International Association for Cross Cultural Psychology” , Reims, France, 2014; “28th International Congress of Applied Psychology”, Paris, France, 2014, “11th Conference of the European Academy of Occupational and Health Psychology”, London, England, 2014, II International Scientific Conference “Modern Methodology of Science and Education”, Warsaw, Poland, 2018, international scientific-methodological conference “Current trends of scientific research in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe”, Latvia, Riga, 2020, etc.

In addition, the department organizes its own annual scientific and practical conferences with international participation, which are devoted to urgent problems of modern psychology. Foreign scientists, teachers and students constantly participate in them, give presentations and hold workshops.

Employees of the department also take an active part in numerous educational and scientific projects not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. So, in recent years, some of the employees have completed an international internship, in particular:

Gladun T.S. –

  • In the period from November 4 to December 13, 2019, a scientific and pedagogical internship on the topic: “Problems and the process of reforming education in the field of natural sciences in Ukraine and the EU countries” at Kuyavia University in Wloclawek (Republic of Poland).

Employees of the department actively publish their achievements in those journals and other scientific publications that are included in the Scopus or WOS database and have the appropriate Hirsch citation rates.

Establishing ties with international scientific centers, the department’s employees harmonize their scientific research with the achievements of scientists from other countries, and also introduce them into the educational process and medical practice.

Therefore, throughout its existence, the department of general and medical psychology and its employees tried to ensure that the main directions and priorities in the field of psychology and medical psychology were presented not only in the educational process, scientific activity, but also to a large extent in sync with the global trends in the development of psychological science.
