JUBILEE PRESENTATION OF BOOKS BY PROFESSOR TARAS DENYSOVYCH NYKULA

The presentation of jubilee two-volume book of memoirs by professor in O.O. Bohomolets national medical university Taras Denysovych Nykula – Honorary scientist and technician of Ukraine, laureate of State prize of Ukraine in the sphere of science and technology, academician in Academy of sciences of higher education of Ukraine, Ukrainian academy of sciences, New York academy of sciences, honorary academician in Ukrainian medical dental academy, senior member in European associations (renal, dialysis and transplantation), member in Research academy of International biographical center (Cambridge, England). The fellow countrymen, pupils, colleagues and friends came to congratulate the jubilee.

The component of history for the whole country passed through the prism of life of Taras Denysovych and his family. The boy from Bukovyna had the difficult tests: years of forced separation from father, brand of “public enemy”, serious disease of mother, death of father’s younger brother as a warrior of UPA, deportation of many relatives to the Siberia, confiscation of property. All that has formed the character – persistence, tolerance, polyculture and mutual respect.

In 1951 he finished Banylivska incomplete secondary school, and in 1954 – Vyzhnytska secondary school No 1, named after Yu. Fedkovych. Then he studied at treatment faculty of Chernivtsy state medical institute, which he graduated with honors in 1960.

In 1965 Taras Denysovych Nykula – in O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, where he passed the way from resident medical practitioner to the head at department of propedeutics of internal medicine No 2 (1988-2014). In 1986-1998 he performed the duties of pro-rector, its deputy in academic and scientific work.

In 1969 T.D. Nykula was awarded with the scientific degree for Candidate of Medicine, and in 1984 – Doctor of Medicine, in 1977 – assistant professor, and in 1988 – professor.

The range of his creative efforts – 55 scientific directions, in particular he for the first time developed the way for programmed diet therapy for each clinical group of patients using the new original variants of low protein diets and modified national dishes.

Taras Denysovych is the author of over 950 published scientific works, including 75 books, which were present at the separate exhibition.
The scientist established the school of therapist –nephrologists: trained 4 Doctors and 21 Candidates of Medicine, as well 8 Masters of Medicine. Most teaches at the department, where he was the head, are his pupils.
