ACADEMICIAN O.O. BOHOMOLETS THIRTY SEVENTH READINGS

The readings, devoted to the memory of famous scientist O.O. Bohomolets, are held every spring at morphological building of University. Each such event, this year it is the 37^th, is a landmark for our higher school. Well known scientists, who have the significant creative achievements in the sphere of pathomorphology and pathophisiology, are united around these readings.

At the presidium there are rector of University Kateryna Amosova, great granddaughter of academician, people’s deputy of Ukraine, member in Supervisory board of University Olga Bohomolets, director of Institute of occupational medicine at NAMS academician Yuriy Kundiyev, vice-president in NAMS, head at department of neurosurgery, academician Vitaliy Tsymbaliuk, head at department of histology and embryology, Prof. Yuriy Chaykovskyy.

Kateryna Amosova made the introductory speech, in which she assured all present people that the collective of NMU continues the business of academician O.O. Bohomolets and its proves that worthily bears the name of the great scientist with its achievements and scientific improvements. The confirmation for this approach is the opening of SRI of experimental and clinical medicine, which will become the center for further development of ideas by O.O. Bohomolets.

Olga Bohomolets thanked the collective of University, in particular, department of pathophisiology (head – Prof. M. Kryshtal) that was the organizer of readings, and emphasized that the medical establishment for her family is not connected only with the name of her great grandfather but other members of the family joined to the affairs of Unversity: “When I was a small girl I came to the Readings and absorbed the atmosphere of this temple of science and later I decided to go along the way of my glorious ancestor”.

Prof. Yu. Chaykovskyy made the speech to the audience, in which he shared the results from recent scientific researches in study of regeneration processes in periphery nervous system. Next reporters paid attention to the actuality of this problem in connection with the events in the east of the country. The character of wounds in modern war testifies to the fact that the periphery nervous system is injured and it is necessary to seek for the ways for restoration of its functions.
