Students of medical university demand the legal court judgment

Today on 20, October, 2014 the students’ core group of Bogomolets National medical university (NMU) appealed with the open letter to the Chairman in Superior Specialized Civil and Criminal Court of Ukraine (SSCCCU) Borys Gulko (reference number 11986/0/30-14). The main thing, which the students demand is the just and impartial justice in case of ex-rector of NMU Vitaliy Moskalenko.

“We know, – write students in the open letter – that Superior Specialized Civil and Criminal Court of Ukraine considers the case about possible rehabilitation of Vitaliy Moskalenko at the post of rector in university. The students’ community since the very beginning until now has attentively been watching for the run of this judicial process. The students of medical university will announce the indefinite students’ strike, if Ukrainian Themis assists to corruption and injustice!”

“The collective and studentship is in constant tension because of attempts by Vitaliy Moskalenko to return his former post at the higher school and expresses its unwillingness to see that human in the university. We would like the better future for us and for our descendants and thus we will not allow returning the previous bribery.” – emphasizes the Chairman in students’ union “Studdovira” at Bogomolets NMU, student Vasyl Giliuk – one of those people, who signed the open letter on behalf of the whole studentship.

The core group of medical university also asks the chairman in SSCCCU to pay attention to the fact that the criminal proceedings were initiated against ex-head of higher school in relation to criminal crime according to P. 5 Art. 191 Criminal Code of Ukraine (capturing, misappropriation, embezzlement of other person’s property through abuse of official position). Such executives discredit the authority of the state and bring to naught the struggle of Ukrainian nation against corruption, students think.

“Moskalenko will by no means return to his chair, no matter what efforts and contract he used within this purpose. And this letter is just one of fragments for how we show our activity. We definitely account for the victory in order at last to forget about this problem and to concentrate on the fruitful work in reconstruction of university”, – declares Co-chairman in Anticorruption committee of Bogomolets NMU, student Volodymyr Motornyy, one more signatories of open letter.

Let’s remind that in April 2014 ex-rector was dismissed from the post due to detection of a great number of misuses that caused to numerous protesting actions of students and expression of mistrust to him by labor collective of medical university. But he does not still leave the hopes to return his desired post by court. Today he submitted the cassation to the Superior Specialized Court of Ukraine.
