STUDENT VOLODYMYR YURYCHKO WAS POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED WITH THE ORDER “FOR COURAGE” OF THE III DEGREE

The perished student of O.O. Bohomolets National medical university Volodymyr Yurychko was awarded with the honorary award – order “For courage” of III degree. According to the decree from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Yurychko was awarded posthumously for personal courage and high professionalism, demonstrated in defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, devotedness to the military oath.

Volodymyr Yurychko was born on 3, April, 1994 in Lviv region in the family of doctors. He graduated from general education secondary school No 3, technical college of economics and informatics with honor in 2011 and was enrolled due to contest to the 1st course of O.O. Bohomolets NMU pursuant to the state order. Volodymyr always was the organized student. He studied well, wrote scientific works and went in for sports (he was a participant and winner in competitions for many times).

Since the very start of events in Maydan he was in the center of the struggle, scarifying all he had so that to give the better future to Ukraine, ignoring his life. And before leaving to ATO area as a volunteer he wrote in his page in the social network: “With the shield or on the shield”. In battalion “Aydar” Volodymyr was the assistant machine gunner and when he lost his brother-in-arms he himself became the machine gunner.
Volodymyr perished on 13, August, 2014, defending the Motherland near city Schastya.

The University administration also performed a number of events for immortalization of memory about Volodymyr Yurychko:
– Opening the memorial plaque in memory of Volodymyr Yurychko on the building of administrative suite of University
– Approval of Provision about Volodymyr Yurychko personal scholarship.
– Assigning the name of Volodymyr Yurychko to the lecture hall No 4 in morphological building (Peremogy Avenue, 34) with memorial exposition
– Organization of annual volleyball tournament “Volodymyr Yurychko Memorial” among students of higher schools in c. Kyiv.
