THE EMPLOYEES OF NMU TOOK PART IN CONGRESS “ONCOLOGY DURING ERA OF BIOMARKERS” IN POLAND

The 42nd annual Congress for International union of oncologists and biomarkers “Oncology during era of biomarkers” (ISOB), in which under support of international relations department of NMU the following scientists of NMU took part: R.I. Vereschako, Doctor of Medicine, head at department of oncology and A.V. Dinets, Ph.D, assistant at department of surgery No 4 (head at department, professor V.G. Mishalov).

Professor R.I. Vereschako made the report about biomarkers for breast cancer and assistant A.V. Dinets – the report about results from research – identification of diagnostic markers for cystic dendritic thyroid cancer that was made within the joint project with Karolinska Institute (Sweden).

The 42nd annual Congress of ISOB had the accreditation by European Union of Medical Specialists and American Medical Association for accrual of CME credits that is applied at attestation of clinical staff at foreign medical establishments. The scientific program of congress was presented by reports of world known scientists in this sphere from leading laboratories and university clinics in Europe, Northern America and Asia. The reports presented the results from researches of the newest molecular, genetic and epigenetic biomarkers that have the high potential or are already involved into diagnostics of malignant tumors, as well as differential diagnostics.

During the congress they considered all aspects of fundamental, translation and clinical researches, related to biomarkers of malignant tumors. In total 18 sessions were performed, during which the contradictory issues of oncology and recent discoveries of tumor biomarkers were considered. 75 poster and 100 oral reports were presented, among which we should mention the researches that presented the newest, unpublished results.

During the conference they also performed the session of IncoNet EaP by project of EU Eastern Partnership that takes part in involvement of academic establishments into project “Horizon 2020” – new program of EU on researches and innovations. The agenda of session IncoNet EaP included the reports by specialists-oncologists from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Belarus and Azerbaijan.

The scientists from O.O. Bohomolets NMU were the only representatives from Ukraine at this event. All reports at session IncoNet EaP of project of EU Eastern Partnership were accompanied by discussion about methodological aspects and fundamental data, as well as clinical importance of results from researches. The coordinator of IncoNet EaP in project of EU Eastern Partnership in Poland Ewa Szkiladz in her presentation reported about perspectives for participation in Horizon – 2020 and assistance to this participation of organization IncoNet EaP, which representative office also is in Ukraine.

The report by A.V. Dinets, Ph.D was marked by the Prize for the best oral report, discussion and design of research (Young Scientist Merit Award) among young scientists, who presented the results from researches at the congress.
