ENLARGING THE FORMS AND DIRECTION IN POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION AT NMU

The traditions of postgraduate education at National medical university are over 100 years old since the times of Saint Volodymyr University. Starting since 2015 the establishment of Institute of postgraduate education of O.O. Bohomolets NMU we started the new stage in its development. During last year we established and launched the new powerful departments for training of interns under 29 specialties. At the same time the work on enlargement of forms and directions in continuous medical educational for practitioners is in progress. As in training of interns, the characteristic feature is hereby the practical orientation of study.

In June 2016 the department of surgery, anesthesiology and intensive therapy of postgraduate education at O.O. Bohomolets NMU performed the scientific practical seminar “Ultrasound in practice of anesthesiologist and doctor of intensive therapy (moderator – Doctor of Medicine Kuchyn Yu.L.), which was oriented to doctors-anesthesiologists and specialists in intensive therapy and was devoted to possibilities for use of ultra sound for practical activity in operating room and intensive therapy ward. The doctors-specialists from CA HC of Kyiv, Dnipro, Odessa, Zaporizhzhya, doctors of the Armed Forces, MIA and Security Service of Ukraine, as well as private clinics “Oberig”, “Borys” and “Dobrobut” took part in the seminar. All participants after seminar have previously registered for course on field-specific improvement that is planned for November, 2016.

The department of clinical pharmacology and clinical pharmacy (head – professor Khaytovych M.V.) and department of therapy, infectious diseases and dermatovenereology of postgraduate education (head – professor Gubska O.Yu.) organized and performed the cycle of lectures and scientific practical conferences “Modern methods for laboratory diagnostics and treatment of diseases of inner organs” for doctors of practical health care facilities in Ukraine (lecturer – professor Pinskyy L.L.) during 3 months in Brovary, Bila Tserkva, Irpin, Kirovohrad, Lysychansk, Mariupol, Obukhiv, Slavutych, Pereyasliv-Khmelnytskyy.

The main purpose of those events was to enlarge the possibilities for Institute of postgraduate education at O.O. Bohomolets NMU as to performance of cycles for field-specific improvement in new bases. Over 10 topics for course of field-specific improvement for doctors of different specialties are already now approved.

The work of Institute of postgraduate education of O.O. Bohomolets NMU is in progress and becomes an integral part in system for improvement of qualification at doctors in Ukraine!
