LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FROM HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL TO PROFESSOR VASYL PETRENKO

The letter of recommendation from professor in Harvard medical school (Boston, USA) Megan B. Murray to support the candidacy to the post of member in National academy of medical sciences of Ukraine head at department of phthisiology and pulmonology at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university.

In particular, the letter mentions “We are happy with the support of professor Vasyl Petrenko in cooperation of O.O. Bohomolets NMU with Brown University and Harvard medical school as to development and implementation of programs on struggle against tuberculosis and improvement of results from treatment in Ukraine. Professor Petrenko joined to researches by Harvard university on molecular epidemiology of tuberculosis, which purpose is to find the mutations in the composition of genes that have the stable properties to existing medicines.
I think that professor Vasyl Petrenko is one from few scientists in Ukraine, who may take part in researches and implement their results in medical practice.
As the chief editor in all-Ukrainian scientific practical journal “Tuberculosis, pulmonary diseases, HIV-infection”, he made the significant contribution into promotion of new researches and extension of scientific knowledge in clinical practice of Ukraine.
Professor Petrenko is the excellent candidate to the post of member in NAMS of Ukraine thanks to his approach to researches, capability to extend the best world practices in Ukraine, his wide international contacts and mostly important devotedness to Ukrainian science”.
