FUTURE CARDIOLOGISTS FROM TURKEY COMPLETED AN INTERNSHIP IN BOGOMOLETS NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

Two students from Turkey completed an internship according to international exchange program IFMSA SCOPE in Bogomolets National Medical University in August this year. They are 4th-year student Mehmet Adzhyali and 5th -year student Semsek Güven, who trained at the Department of Internal Medicine No. 2 in the specialty ‘Cardiology’.

‘Ukrainian Youth Association of Medical Students, as representative IFMSA in Ukraine along with Bogomolets NMU held internships for foreign students from Turkey under the program IFMSA SCOPE for the first time. We improve our cooperation with Europe and since 2016 NMU’s students can train in the best clinics in the old world’ – head of IFMSA in Ukraine, Garik Melkumyan said.

Students from Turkey participated in therapeutic and diagnostic manipulations, mastered practical skills and performed instrumental and laboratory research during the internship under the direction of Teaching Assistant of the Department of Internal Medicine No.2, Ihor Katsitadze.

Our foreign visitors are grateful to the University administration for giving them the opportunity to train in the best medical university in Ukraine. It is another step towards the realization of their dream – to become a cardiologist.

Members of the Ukrainian Association of Medical Students briefed colleagues on Ukrainian culture conducted, exciting tours in Kyiv and Ukraine. The guys left only pleasant impressions from the Ukraine. They were extremely grateful for the warm welcome and promised to provide the best conditions for Ukrainian medical students that wished to undergo training in Turkey.

Head of practice, Teaching Assistant of the Department of Internal Medicine No.2, I. Katsitadze said that ‘Student exchange programs are the most promising investment in the future of national health care systems. Students perceive new information the most actively; they adapt to changes and seek development. In cooperation with IFMSA, I personally had the opportunity to meet with two students from Turkey who came to Bogomolets National Medical University for an internship in cardiology. I note the high level of training and motivation of young men, their desire for knowledge and high culture. During the month, as a tutor of this series, I was able to share features cardiological science and practice with our guests, discuss the differences and similarities of our medical schools and principles of health care systems. I note that such exchanges are an essential component of professional and personal growth of the youth. I fully support the activities and thanks Ukrainian IFMSA office for the excellent work and organization process’.
